In this fast-paced Interlude you get the opportunity to not only see a Broadway show, but you also get to learn what it’s like to audition and star in a Broadway production when you attend an actor’s studio! A local tour guide will provide insight into one of the most exciting cities in the world and you’ll have plenty of free time to shop or check out Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum or Central Park.
From Radio City to a river cruise on the Hudson, this Big Apple experience offers it all. Take the ferry to Ellis Island, tour the Museum of Immigration, visit Ground Zero and drive through Wall Street, Chinatown, and Little Italy. Day 1: Fly to New York City
Upon your arrival at the New York City airport, meet your Tour Manager and transfer by private motor coach to your downtown Midtown Manhattan hotel for the next five nights. Residence Inn by Marriott – near Times Square, with convenient access to theaters and Fifth Avenue shopping
Day 2: City Tour / Free Time
Join a local guide for a half day city tour through one of the most exciting cities in the world! Drive by Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Upper West Side, 5th Ave, United Nations, Empire State Building, and more. After lunch on your own, enjoy free time. Relax prior to your Get Acquainted Dinner at a fine local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 3: Theatre Class / Free Time / Evening Broadway Show
This morning, visit an actor’s studio to attend our “Meet the Artist Series”, a class on the history and tradition of Broadway theater in New York. Talk to real stage actors, who describe what it is like to audition and star in a big time Broadway production. Enjoy an included deli lunch at one of New York City’s popular delis before enjoying a free afternoon. You may wish to shop at Bloomingdales and Macy’s, visit Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, or ride a carriage through Central Park. All are within walking distance from your hotel. This evening, take your seats for a performance of the Broadway hit musical Dear Evan Hansen (subject to change). (B,L)
Day 4: Radio City Music Hall / River Cruise
Visit the 1930’s art deco Radio City Music Hall, best known for the Rockette’s dance company and its annual Christmas Show. After lunch on your own, see the city from a different perspective: from the Hudson River aboard a river cruise. It’s a must see for every visitor to the Big Apple. Return to your hotel and enjoy a free evening tonight. (B)
Day 5: Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island / Lower Manhattan
This morning, drive to Lower Manhattan and Battery Park. Take the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty plus the Ellis Island Museum of Immigration, the nation’s point of entry for millions of people from 1892-1924. Then, stop to see Ground Zero, former site of the World Trade Center of the 9/11 tragedy, and the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Later, drive past Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Bowery. Return to the hotel and relax prior to tonight’s Farewell Dinner. (B,D)
Day 6: Freedom Tower / Fly Home
After breakfast, visit the NEW One World Observatory at the World Trade Center. You will ascend to the 102nd floor in less than 60 seconds in the impressive Sky Pod Elevators. Then, return to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
