In Grand Rapids your day will be filled with a coach tour of the city and the Heritage Hill Historic Home District. You then have a unique opportunity to lunch at the Downtown Market to savor the creative, farm fresh food. An unhurried visit to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum and, if you so desire, The Grand Rapids Art Museum. The last day will begin at the stately Kellogg Manor House and continue that, aura of elegance, with a visit to the “Riviera of the Midwest”. Lots of extras are tucked into each day and plenty of free time to pursue your personal interests among the vast opportunities available.

Day 1: Indianapolis / Holland / Grand Rapids
Traveling by coach from Indianapolis our first stop is the beach town of Holland Michigan. Explore their charming downtown for lunch on your own, quaint shops and the new Centennial Park Horticulture Exhibit “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” living book. Visit Windmill Island Gardens where a palette of color awaits you. Tour up into DeZwaan, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States. Then travel to Grand Rapids and check-in to the Historic Luxury Amway Grand Hotel for 3 nights. Our Welcome Dinner this evening is at a fine local restaurant. Day 2: Grand Rapids / Saugatuck
This morning begins with the amazing Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, one of the nation’s
premier horticultural display gardens and sculpture parks. Enjoy a tram tour of the acclaimed sculpture park focused on established and emerging sculptors from the late 19th century to the present. You’ll also have free time explore the indoors gardens on your own. After lunch on your own at the café we depart for Saugatuck and a memorable beach experience, the Saugatuck Dune Ride. Your driver will give you a great ride along with humor and historical highlights of the Saugatuck dune area. Then explore the charming shops of Saugatuck with its eclectic blend of upscale boutiques and galleries, artisan goodies and other treasures. We’ll convene for and included dinner harbor front before returning to our hotel. (B,D)
Day 3: Grand Rapids
After breakfast, meet our local guide in the Amway Grand Historic Pantlind Lobby (by the fountain) to learn more about this historic hotel. Then tour by coach the City of Grand Rapids, and the Heritage Hill Historic Home District. We end at the Downtown Market for lunch on your own choosing for over 20 indoor market vendors…get a taste of their creative, diverse, farm-fresh and delicious food. Then visit the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library & Museum. Take plenty of time to explore at your own pace. We’re right near our hotel so the rest of the day is free to stay longer, explore the nearby area and the river front. The Amway Grand Plaza is 0.3 miles from the Amway Grand. Dinner is on your own tonight. For those interested, the nearby Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) is open in this evening from 5-9pm. Please let us know if you are interested in the GRAM so we can arrange a docent tour. (B)
Day 4: Depart for home
Your bag may be packed, but we still have a day of fun planned. Our first stop is a tour of the Kellogg Manor House. The former estate of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg, the home is rich with history and elegance with natural gardens around a lovely lakeside setting. We then depart for the “Riviera of the Midwest.” Poised atop a bluff along the Lake Michigan shore, sits quaint St. Joseph, one of Michigan’s featured Beachtowns. Brick streets welcome you to a vibrant downtown to relax, browse through unique shops and enjoy lunch on your own. As we meander back, one last stop at the Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm where you can stock up on fresh apples, they grow over 200 varieties, many are heritage varieties that will bring back the flavor of yesteryear. You will be able to sample what is available at the store to be sure you get your favorite. (B,Box D)
