This Texas vacation has something for everyone! History buffs will love touring the Presidential Libraries of LBJ, GHW and GW Bush, visiting the site of JFK’s assassination and learning about Teddy Roosevelt and the Menger Hotel. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, you get to explore the Stockyards retelling the true history of Texas’ famous livestock industry. And for sports fans, a visit to the audacious and totally Texas Cowboy Stadium.
Included in this bigger than life “Texas style” Interlude is a visit to Southfork Ranch. JR and Sue Ellen et al provided soapy, backstabbing TV drama from 1978 to 1991 and you get to visit where it all took place.

Day 1: Fly to San Antonio
Fly to San Antonio and check into your hotel. Freshen up for your included Get Acquainted Dinner. Then, enjoy a private, narrated boat ride along downtown’s famous Riverwalk. Drury Plaza Riverwalk, San Antonio, TX (D)
Day 2: San Antonio
View the IMAX movie, The Price of Freedom, which recreates the events leading up to the famous battle at the Alamo. Then, tour the Alamo, where Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie fought for Texas independence in 1836. Stop at the historic Menger Hotel, where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders (later he became our 26th President). Day 3: Austin / College Station
Coach to Austin to visit the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library. LBJ was our 36th President (1963-1969) and famous for his “Great Society” legislation. Visit the replica LBJ’s Oval Office and learn what happened in the world during his tenure. Lunch is on your own along Austin’s 6th Street Historic District. Day 4: Bush Library / To Dallas
Morning tour of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library. Bush Senior was our 41st President (1989-1993). Known for his continuation of Reagan’s policies and the Gulf War, Bush Senior was a decorated WWII naval aviator. Learn about his life and times and even sit behind the desk at his Oval Office replica. Next we motor to Waco for an included lunch. Then see Baylor University plus tour the Texas Rangers Museum. Day 5: Dallas Sightseeing
Enjoy a morning narrated city tour including the JFK assassination site & museum, Fair Park, upscale Turtle Creek, and the Mary Kay Cosmetics headquarters. Then, stop at the Neiman Marcus original flagship store for lunch. This afternoon, visit the SMU campus and the library of George W. Bush, our 43rd President (2001-2009). Day 6: Day trip to Fort Worth
Texas loves football and you’ll start the day touring the AT&T Stadium. Then, on to Fort Worth, home of the Stockyards National Historic District. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, every inch of the Stockyards tells the history of Texas’ cowboy & livestock industry. Next, tour the impressive Bass Performance Hall.
