Day 1: Fly to Boston / Ludlow, VT
Fly to Boston and meet your Tour Director and Deluxe Motorcoach. Travel through the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont to Ludlow where we overnight for the next two evenings. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. Castle Hill Resort & Spa – Ludlow, VT (D)
Day 2: Ludlow, VT
After a hearty breakfast we travel to Manchester, VT to visit Hildene (the Summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln). Here you will enjoy a tour of this beautiful Georgian Revival Home, visit the gardens and grounds, as well as “Sunbeam” which was Lincoln’s private Pullman railway car. Next, visit the charming village of Manchester (known as Vermont’s 5th Avenue) for lunch and shopping. This afternoon travel to Weston, VT and explore the Vermont Country Store. Finish your day of touring with a stop at the Green Mountain Sugarhouse to learn about the art of maple sugaring. Dinner this evening will be served at the Castle on the Hill. Day 3: Lincoln, NH
This morning we begin our journey to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our first stop takes us to Quechee Gorge (Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon) for a picture stop. We continue to New Hampshire and the Cannon Mountain Tram where we take a scenic ride to the summit and enjoy spectacular views and have lunch on our own. This afternoon, visit the Flume Gorge where you’ll enjoy a film at the Visitor Center and short shuttle ride to the 800 foot flume gorge. Check into our White Mountain hotel for the next two evenings. Dinner is included at a local restaurant. Mountain Club on Loon – Lincoln, NH (B, D)
DAY 4: Lincoln, NH
Following breakfast we travel to Lake Winnipesaukee where we board the M/S Mount Washington and enjoy a scenic cruise that offers outstanding views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Disembark in the beautiful town of Wolfeboro where you can enjoy lunch and shopping on your own. This afternoon we visit the historic Castle in the Clouds. The castle was built in 1913 by Thomas Plant and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. DAY 5: Freeport, ME
This morning say good-bye to New Hampshire and begin your journey to coastal Maine. Travel over the scenic Kancamangus Highway on the way to the town of Freeport (Home of LL Bean) where you will have time for lunch and shopping on your own. This afternoon we travel to Bath, ME for a visit to the Maine Maritime Museum. The Maine Maritime Museum formerly the Bath Marine Museum, offers exhibits on Maine’s maritime heritage, culture and the role Maine has played in regional and global maritime activities. Tonight check into the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport, ME. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant this evening. Hilton Garden Inn – Freeport, ME (B, D)
DAY 6: Freeport, ME
After breakfast we board the coach for a scenic drive of coastal Maine. Travel to Ogunquit where we board the Finest Kind Lobster Boat for a lobster pulling cruise. Enjoy a picture stop at the Nubble Lighthouse and then continue to Kennebunkport (Home of Former President Bush) where you’ll enjoy lunch and shopping on your own. We conclude our day with a guided tour of the city of Portland, known as the Queen City. This evening enjoy a traditional Maine Lobster dinner. Hilton Garden Inn – Freeport, ME (B, D)
DAY 7: Boston, Fly Home
Travel to Boston, visit the JFK Library and have time for lunch on your own at the Library. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Boston as we transfer to Logan Airport and your flight home. (B)
