Day 1: Indianapolis / Boston / Rutland VT Fly to Boston where you will be greeted by your tour director and deluxe motorcoach. Travel to Rutland, Vermont where we overnight for the next two evenings. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. Holiday Inn – Rutland, VT (D) Day 2: Rutland / Rockingham / Green Mountain Flyer / Woodstock / Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site After breakfast, we board our coach for the Vermont Country Store in Rockingham for a little shopping time. We continue to Bellows Falls where you board the Green Mountain Flyer, vintage coaches pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive for a scenic journey along the Connecticut River. Depart the train in Chester and travel to the charming town of Woodstock, Vermont. First settled in 1768, Woodstock retains the elegant charm and rugged character of American antiquity. With a covered bridge in the middle of town, and stately homes surrounding the village green, it is easy to see why Woodstock has been called the "quintessential New England village." Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping on your own. This afternoon we travel to Plymouth, Vermont where you will visit the Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, Birthplace of our 30th President. Dinner is served at our hotel this evening. Holiday Inn – Rutland, VT (B, D) Day 3: Quechee Gorge / Cannon Mountain Tram / Woodstock / Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train This morning we begin our journey to New Hampshire. We’All visit Quencher Gorge (Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon) before traveling into the White Mountains. We arrive at the Cannon Mountain Tram for a scenic ride to the summit where you can enjoy the view and lunch on your own. On a clear day, you can see the mountains of four states and Canada! Enjoy some free time in Woodstock, New Hampshire before checking into your hotel for the next two nights. This evening, board the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train where you will experience magnificent mountain vistas and lush New England forests while enjoying a delicious dining experience in a beautifully restored Pullman dining car. Indian Head Resort – Lincoln, NH (B, D) Day 4: Conway NH / Conway Scenic Notch Train / Cog Railway Visitors Center and Museum After breakfasts, we board our coach for Conway where we board the Conway Scenic Notch Train for a journey to Crawford Notch. You'll enjoy some of the finest natural scenery in the East as you travel through spectacular Crawford Notch past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas en route to Crawford Depot. From the Notch we travel by coach to the Cog Railway Museum at Mount Washington where you will have time to browse the Visitors Center and museum and have lunch on your own. Another wonderful dinner is served at a local restaurant. Indian Head Resort – Lincoln, NH (B, D) Day 5: Castle in the Clouds / Plymouth MA This morning we begin our journey south to Massachusetts. Before departing New Hampshire you will visit the Castle in the Clouds, an iconic 16-room Arts & Crafts Mansion perched high on a mountaintop overlooking Lake Winnies offering a spectacular mountain panoramic view of fall colors. We continue to Plymouth where we have a picture stops at Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II. Check into your hotel for the next two evenings. Hilton Garden Inn - Plymouth, MA (B, D) Day 6: Cape Cod / Hyannis Harbor Cruise / Cape Cod Central Railroad Travel to the Cape and begin your day with a cruise through the beautiful Hyannis Harbor. Enjoy an included lunch at the Daniel Webster Inn followed by an afternoon ride on the scenic Cape Cod Central Railroad. You'll pass beautiful cranberry bogs, natural woodlands, lush marshes and more as you make your way between Hyannis and the Cape Cod Canal. This evening we enjoy a traditional lobster dinner (alternate entree available). Hilton Garden Inn - Plymouth, MA (B, L, D) Day 7: Boston / Indianapolis After breakfast, we depart for the Boston Airport for your flight home.
