TRAVEL ITINERARY

Day 1: Indianapolis / Washington D.C. Dulles / Morven Park / Festival of Lights
Arrive at Dulles International Airport. Meet our full time escort and depart by our motorcoach. Early arrivals will have time to visit the Smithsonian Institution’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center National Air & Space Museum at Dulles. Check into our local hotel. Enjoy a Festive Traditional Holiday Welcome Dinner at the hotel. After dinner we depart for a tour of the classic Morven Park Mansion beautifully decorated for Christmas. There will be hot cider and cookies. Continue with a two-and-one-half mile drive through the Bull Run Festival of Lights. Doubletree Washington Dulles (D)

Day 2: Buckhorn Inn / The Homestead Resort
Check out. Stop for a soup and sandwich buffet lunch at the historic Buckhorn Inn. Continue to The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA. On arrival you’ll be welcomed by a wine and cookie greeting. This afternoon you can join in a Holiday Decoration Class to make a beautiful holiday centerpiece to take home with you or enjoy afternoon tea. Day 3: The Homestead Resort
After breakfast in the dining room you’ll take a historical tour of the Homestead Resort. Today’s activities include a holiday cookie making class; indoor mineral pool and spa; fitness center; coupons for discounts in the hotel shops; and afternoon tea. Or, you may venture on a day trip to historic Lewisburg, WV, a charming town with over 40 shops, galleries, and restaurants. The town trip includes a tour of, and harpist performance in The Old Stone Church, erected in 1796. A gourmet dinner with dancing is included at the resort this evening. Day 4: Charlottesville / Monticello
Enjoy free time and lunch on your own at the resort before checking out and departing. Arrive in Charlottesville and check into our local hotel. Begin with a visit to the University of Virginia’s Rotunda where Thomas Jefferson will meet you. Afterwards continue to Monticello for a visit to the galleries and gift shop. A candlelight tour of the mansion and a private dinner this evening. Courtyard Charlottesville, VA (B,D)

Day 5: Montpelier / Washington D.C. Dulles / Indianapolis
Check out. This morning you’ll visit Montpelier the stunning restored home of James and Dolley Madison. Continue to Dulles International Airport for your flight home. (B)
