Day 5: Churchill MB
Today enjoy a Churchill city and area bus tour.
Sites include the Polar Bear Jail & "Miss Piggy," a

freight plane owned by Lamb Air. On a 1979 flight, the plane developed engine
trouble
during its approach to the runway and managed to land among the rocks without
a fatality.
View Prince of Wales National Park which
encompasses a massive fortification along with installations at Cape Merry and
Sloop Cove. A huge stone fortress that took the Hudson’s
Bay Company 40 years to build in the1700s, it’s a reminder of the French-English
struggle for control of Hudson Bay’s fur trade. The wreck of the M/V Ithaca
sits at the western tip of Bird Cove, about 16 kilometers east of town. Mystery
shrouds the exact details of this shipwreck that eerily disappears during swirling
mists and high tide.
