Featuring the river towns of St. Charles & Geneva Illinois

September 7-8, 2011
2 days 1 nights

Grab your girlfriend for a fun two day trip to the river towns of St. Charles and Geneva, Illinois. Enjoy wine tasting and tour at a 40-acre estate vineyard boasting amazing architecture and hand-painted fine art. Shop turn-of-the-century homes turned into quaint shops in St. Charles. Dine at the historic Hotel Baker.

The next day, explore the Fabyan Villa Museum and Japanese Gardens, a prairie-style house enlarged and remodeled by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1907. The Fabyan’s Japanese Garden affords the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of Japanese gardening while strolling the winding path of this 100 year-old site.

Spend time in the picture postcard town of Geneva, stroll along the lush tree-lined streets and explore specialty shops nestled in historic storefronts and charming Victorian style homes. One more spectacular stop before returning home, The Farnsworth House, built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1951. Located on a 62-acre secured private estate, it is one of the most famous examples of modernist domestic architecture and was considered unprecedented in its day.
