TRAVEL ITINERARY

Day 1: Indianapolis, IN / Baton Rouge, LA
Fly to New Orleans then motocoach onto Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana. After checking into your hotel, enjoy a cocktail party prior to your Get Acquainted Dinner at a local restaurant. Let the good times roll! Drury Inn, Baton Rouge (D)

Day 2: Baton Rouge / Cajun Country Tour
Drive west to nearby Lafayette and St. Martinsville in the heart of Cajun Country. Visit the Martin de Tours Church to view the Evangeline Statue and Oak, marking the spot where the legendary heroine waited for her lover, Gabriel. See an Acadian house at the Statue Park. Later, visit the Martin Accordian Factory prior to an authentic Cajun dinner. Drury Inn, Baton Rouge (B, D)

Day 3: Baton Rouge, LA / Natchez, MS
Today travel north to Natchez, Mississippi, one of the most charming towns in the deep south. The broad, tree-lined boulevards are graced with more than 40 antebellum mansions. Learn about a by-gone era pre-Civil War, when cotton was king and Natchez a great seaport. Enjoy a city tour and visit three restored historic mansions. Relax over lunch with fine southern cooking at the Carriage House Restaurant in Stanton Hall. Return to Baton Rouge for a free evening. Drury Inn, Baton Rouge (B, L)

Day 4: Baton Rouge / New Orleans
Morning tour of Baton Rouge with the past and present Capital Buildings, the new and old Governor's Mansions and the LSU Campus. Then motor south along the Great River Road and marvel at the plantations and shipping activity along the river. Stop at Houmas house for lunch and a tour of this Civil War mansion. Then arrive in the "Big Easy" - New Orleans. Tour Mardi Gras World, where all the best parade floats are built. Check into your hotel, known as "The Grand Hotel in the French Quarter". Day 5: New Orleans City Tour / Cooking School / WWII Museum
Today, enjoy a tour where the old French, Spanish and Creole splendor are preserved. Learn about the old French Quarter, market places, wharves, dueling places, millionaire homes and dramatic gardens. See Jack London's Square, the Garden District, Saint Louis Cemetary and City Park. Arrive at the New Orleans Cooking School for a fun filled culinary class including lunch. Then visit the National WWII Museum, the only museum in the US that addresses all of the amphibious invasions, or "D-Days" of Word War II, honoring more than 16 million Americans who took part in this global conflict. Day 6: New Orleans / Houma / Swamp Tour / Gator Farm
Today venture out of town ad we motor southwest to the city of Houma, steeped in cajun tradition and culture. The area is famous for its food, fishing, swamps, music and hospitality. Begin with a swamp boat tour where you'll see brilliant flora and a variety of animals including the ferocious king of the swamp - giant alligators! After lunch at a great local restaurant, we visit an active Gator Farm where you can get up close to these reptilian monsters and even hold a live baby alligator. Day 7: New Orleans, LA / Indianapolis, IN
Free time to explore the city on your own. Choices include the Cabildo, Pontalba and Presbytere museums, the Gallier House, IMAX theater, or shop at JAX Brewery and Riverwalk. Then, arrive at the airport for your return flight home. (B)
