Theatre to Die For
Featuring U.S. Premier of Lost Agatha Christie Play "Chimneys"
The International Mystery Writers Festival is the destination for all things
Agatha and for sleuthing like Sherlock. The festival will premier Christie’s
lost play “Chimneys” originally scheduled to debut in London in 1931.
Your
mystery immersion includes three live performances and a widescreen audio live
performance,
all
new
material selected from a competition among hundreds of submissions
to just 14 finalists. In addition, try your mystery hand at Master Classes
with best selling celebrities, or meet the author at bestseller authors’ book
signings.
Expect mystery fun along the way. Traveling with us is special guest,
Irma Baker, a voting member of Malice Domestic, the organization that selects
and
presents the annual Agatha Awards for excellence in mysteries written in the
tradition of Agatha Christie, and who also presents seminars on mystery novels.
The festival was organized
by Zev Buffman, who produced 40 Broadway shows receiving 27 Tony Award nominations. “This
festival will help bring the mystery back to live performances on Broadway
and London, much as the Sundance
Film Festival has invigorated creativity for new independent films.”
The festival celebrates the best of new writers’ works
through competition. Award-winning writers, professional readers, and publishers
are honing the
list of hundreds of submission to just 14 finalists. Broadway professionals
will join together to produce, direct, rehearse and premier the top scripts
live on stage for audience enjoyment. Click
