- Last Call!
A day away delight!
From the imagination of Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman comes a dazzling
new musical adaptation of a timeless favorite that's sure to enchant
audiences of all ages.
It’s important to note that The Jungle Book won’t simply
be a stage adaptation of the Disney movie, but rather an adaptation
that draws from both the Disney film and the tales that inspired it.
The jungle springs to life in a kaleidoscopic song-and-dance-filled
spectacle that chronicles young Mowgli's adventures growing up in
the animal kingdom. Based on Rudyard Kipling's time-honored children's
tales and featuring music from the classic Disney film, this spellbinding
world premiere is the theatrical event of the season.
The new Disney musical will include famous songs from the film ("The
Bare Necessities," "I Wanna Be Like You," "That's
What Friends Are For"), music originally written for but later
cut from the 1967 film, as well as brand new music with Indian roots.
Free time options in Chicago before the show include visit to Lincoln
Park Zoo, shopping or dining.
Seating is limited. Children 8 and older are welcome
on this tour.
Interlude has teamed up with the IBJ Arts & Entertainment
Editor, Lou Harry, to present this IBJ A&E Road Trip. And that’s
not all: There will be prize giveaways, trivia quizzes and more on
